TP Toys UK ‘Top Stockist’ Award Winner
We’re a family business based in Devon, in the South West of the UK. A friend recommended TP Toys to us several years ago when we were looking to buy a children’s swingset for our own three children to play on in the garden. We looked at wooden swing sets, metal swing sets, swing decks and slides with all manner of accessories and swing seats. TP’s huge range of multi activity outdoor play sets amazed us! Finally we decided on our first purchase - a triple giant swing complete with swingdeck.
TP’s quality greatly impressed us and we went on to buy a large trampoline and a large wooden playset complete with a climbing tower and ladder, wooden swings, slide, trapeze bar and swinging pirate boat! For design, safety features and play value we became convinced that TP toys simply can’t be beaten.
We decided to become a TP Toys agent and construct a large outdoor playground on our land to show their vast range of outdoor toys to best advantage and make it easy for customers to choose the best playset for their needs. So in 2000 we set up our display, stocked our warehouse and started trading!
Try Before You Buy
You are welcome to bring your children and ‘try before you buy’. By the time the kids have swung on all the swings, bounced on the all the trampolines and climbed up all the climbing frames, you’ll soon know whether they need a small trampoline or a large trampoline and whether you’d prefer to look at a wooden swingset or a metal swingset in your garden! If you’re considering a holiday in Devon, why not pop in? You could even stay in one of our holiday cottages! - Great!

About wood ...
For reasons of affordability and the environment, softwood rather than hardwood is used by all play equipment manufacturers. Each piece of timber is unique, bearing its own knots, cracks and variations in colour. This is part of its beauty. However, as a natural organic material, it will change over time, as it reacts to variations in atmospheric conditions. Softwood will expand and contract with fluctuations in temperature and humidity. In warm, sunny weather timber wiil shrink. In wet weather it will expand. As these physical changes do not take place uniformly throughout the wood, stresses are set up which result in cracks and splits opening up.
These cracks can be both wide and deep and are more likely in round wood than square wood, although they will occur in both. Whilst this can sometimes seem alarming, the tp timber frames are dimensioned and designed to ensure that this has no effect on their structural integrity. However as a result of this characteristic, you should be prepared to check your playset regularly so as to identify any splintering or lifting of the surface layers of the wood. Any affected areas can be rubbed down using coarse sandpaper to restore a smooth, safe surface.
